Apple Pickin' by MoreVespenegas Apple Pickin' by MoreVespenegas
Haven't drawn the apple siblings in a long while so it's about time.
Tried to be careful in value control, still need to get better in breaking the composition up into distinct value sections but I think it's getting there.

The background is nice
The shadows are nice
The ponies themselves aren't, to me, good. They look so odd and fake. They look like they were made with clay. Appleblooms face looks disgusting. the hair, other than AppleBlooms, looks good, but the faces looks terrible. Sorry, but you did a good job though.

Thanks, I think it was already on there once.
What do you mean progress videos? Like a timelapse of a drawing?

Yeah! I like the style, I'd like to learn how you go about it.

Wow, that's an easy question ;)
There a few things that I would say affect style. Anatomy and the way the artists approaches shading, but I would say the most comes from how they use color.
This picture was done with higher saturations, the upper third mostly with high value contrast and less saturation and hue contrast on shading with an overall warm palette.
Breaking down a style is difficult though, at least for me. The best way to try and learn one is to mimic it.
My style changes over time as I'm not really happy with my art so far so I keep looking to change it so it's a bit hard for me to explain exactly what I do in each painting.

Sorry for late reply :/

Thanks for the info! I do like to study many different types of styles, as I'm still working on mine.
